What is Document History
The Document History module enables leaders to compare two versions of the document at a specific date and time to better monitor changes made to the document.
Access Document History
To access the Document History module, click on Show Changes
In the Document History module, you will be able to search and view previous saved versions of the document.
Save a version of the document
To save a version of the document at a specific date and time, go to Tools, Other actions, and select Create Milestone. A version of the document will be saved with the date and time at which you created the version.
Compare the current document with a past version
From the Document History module, select the past version of the document you would like to use to compare it with your current document. In the Since date tab, use the calendar on the right or use the date range fields to find the past version of your interest. Click on the version and Apply date
Compare two versions from the past
To compare two versions from the past, select Date range. The first version you select (on the left panel) should be older than the second version (on the right panel). In the example below, we are comparing two versions of the document taken on the same date but at different time.
Once you have selected the versions to be compared, click on Apply date.
View changes between the two versions
Once you have selected the two versions to be compared, you will be able to view the changes made in the document between the two versions.
Structural changes
Changes to the structure of the document is indicated in the document outline. The red bin shows that a clause has been deleted and the green + shows that a clause has been added
Textual changes
Clauses which includes some textual changes are marked by a blue dot. To view the changes, click on the clause. Changes are displayed in track change mode and indicates who has made the change and when.
While reviewing the changes, you can mark the change as viewed and then choose the display.
