Preparatory stage (OSD)

Document workflow during Preparatory stage

The Preparatory stage includes 3 main stages: Drafting, commenting and comments resolution.

Default roles during Preparatory stage

At this stage, WG Officers* are Leaders on the online document. All other roles are by default Readers (i.e. Committee members, Liaison representatives, Partners, Document monitors, Voters, and parent committees Officers**).

During the Drafting and Resolution stages (20.00, 20.60), the Leaders set up the project team by granting the relevant permissions to the members participating to the document authoring. To know more about Setting up a project team, refer to the article at the bottom of the page.

During the Commenting stage (20.20), the WG Officers (Leaders), the Committee members, and the Liaison representatives are invited to comment on the document. All other roles have Read-only access to the document (Partners, Document monitors, Voters, and parent committees Officers**).

To better understand roles and their associated permissions, please refer to the article  OSD permissions linked at the bottom of the page.

* WG Officers: Convenor, Convenor/Secretary support team, Twinned Convenor, WG Secretary and Project Leader

How to work on the online document with my project team (stage 20.00)?

Once the online document is active, and the WG Officers* have defined the project team, each team member can start authoring and commenting on the online document.

  • Check articles from the category Drafting in an Online Document, to know more about how to author a document
  • Check articles from the category Commenting in an Online Document, to know more about how to comment on a document
  • Check articles from the category Resolve Comments in an Online Document, to know more about how to resolve comments (Committee and WG officers only).

How do I circulate the document for members' commenting (stage 20.20)?

At stage 20.00, the WG Officers* can create a Working Draft (WD) study aiming to gather comments from WG members on the mature draft. Once the WD study opens, the project stage will automatically be updated to 20.20.

How do I resolve comments (stage 20.60)?

Once the WD study consultation has closed, the project stage will automatically be updated to stage 20.60. All the roles to the online document will be reset to the default roles as explained in section Roles during Preparatory stage.

At this stage, the WG officers* can resolve all captured comments. In addition they can update their project team roles to contribute to the document's authoring.

  • Check articles from the category Resolve Comments in an Online Document, to know more about how to resolve comments (Committee and WG officers only).
  • To update the project team roles, refer to the article Setting up a project team at the bottom of the page.

How do I move the project to the next stages (20.98, 20.99)?

Once all comments have been resolved, and the document is ready to move to the next stage (Committee stage), contact your Technical Programme Manager (TPM) at ISO CS to update your project stage accordingly.

To know who your TPM is, open the project details within Projects.

Unless the project gets cancelled (20.98), the online document stays available for review.
