This article is relevant for:

Committee Manager

Beginning on 1 January 2025, for each project starting (new project or revision), the CM shall consult with the convenor/project leader ahead of the registration of the project and confirm the preferred option for the OSD platform during the post voting decision process (NP) or with the revision resolution template.

The activation is possible at any stage from the stage 00.00 to the stage 40.99 included and except during a consultation/balloting stage (XX.20) (stage codes).

  • Documents in Word format that are submitted to ISO for conversion to online format must be drafted using the Word template for ISO standards available at https://www.iso.org/iso-templates.html and shall not contain track changes.”
  • Once your document is on OSD, any changes made in a Word document cannot be imported back into the OSD. If you modify the content in a Word document while resolving comments from a consultation or ballot, you must manually update the online document to reflect those changes.

NOTE: The Activation button is not available?

The options may be not available (greyed) or you may not see the options for the following reasons:

  1. You are not the CM or support team / your role does not entitle you to proceed with the activation of the online document
  2. Your document is a new project and therefore the "start from latest edition" is not available
  3. The project was once on OSD and was deactivated. OSD may only be used once in the lifetime of a project.
  4. The project has already been imported either from the latest edition or from a Word document.

There in only one import (latest edition or from a Word document) in the lifetime of a project.

  1. The project is not eligible: OSD adoption by ISO committees and eligible projects
