Overview

This release delivers the foundational capabilities and features of the ISOlutions OSD National pilot,  allowing users to securely access the platform, create and edit Homegrown National standards online, collaborate with project teams, work in multiple languages, and export documents in different formats This release is delivered as a cloud-based (SaaS) deployment and is designed to support future enhancements.

Getting Started & Access

  • OSD National is available as a ISO hosted SaaS solution.
  • Users of OSD national pilot members, with an active user account in GD can log in securely and access their OSD national project's online document via the National Projects Portal (NPP)
  • Access is controlled by roles and permissions, ensuring users only see and do what they are allowed to.

Control What Users Can Do with OSD Tools

  • Use the OSD Tools application to adjust the default permissions set up for all Homegrown National projects.

    Administrators can define:

    • Which OSD roles have access to specific features
    • Who can write and edit content
    • Who can add comments
    • Who can export XML or other outputs
  • These settings apply automatically when new projects are created, helping keep access consistent across projects while still allowing flexibility when needed.

Managing Project Teams, Roles & Permissions

Set Up Project Teams with OSD Roles

  • Use the OSD Roles application to set up and manage the project team for each OSD National project created in NPP.
  • Project Leaders can access OSD Roles only for their own projects.
  • Member's user administrators can access OSD Roles for all OSD National projects belonging to their member organization.

Creating & Structuring Documents

  • Start documents with a predefined structure, so you don’t need to build everything from scratch.
  • Use member-specific boilerplates to quickly create consistent documents.
  • References and bibliographies are automatically organized and formatted.
  • Documents are automatically reassembled correctly when exporting, even if edited in sections.

Editing & Collaboration

  • Use the OSD editor to write or author content of homegrown national standards
    • Add text, tables, figures, formulae, code, terms and definitions structures as clauses.
    • Add normative and bibliographic references searching through international (ISO/IEC) and CEN (European) standards database, or manually enter national and other standard references
    • Clauses are automatically numbered following the international default numbering schema
  • Preview your document as HTML directly from the editor.
  • Add comments, reply to and support or un-support comments, to collaborate with reviewers and teammates.
  • Perform content quality checks based on custom dictionary maintained by each member

Language & Localization

  • The user interface opens in the default language for your project.
  • Create and edit documents in multiple languages.
  • Use spell check in different supported languages.
  • Benefit from translated terminology and dictionaries for consistent wording.
  • The editor interface itself is available in translated versions (for those languages that have been translated already by members using POEditor).


Customization & Branding

  • Use boilerplates to maintain consistent branding across documents.


Asset Management

  • Upload, store, and reuse images and other assets directly in the online document of the OSD national project
  • Manage assets through a simple interface with secure cloud storage.


Exporting & Outputs

  • Export documents directly from the editor as:
    • XML for downstream systems
    • PDF for publishing and sharing
    • DOCX for offline editing or review
  • Export permissions are controlled by roles and permissions maintained in OSD Tools for each member, so only authorized users can generate outputs
